Viscose

Viscose

What is Viscose?

Viscose (also called rayon) is a semi-synthetic fiber made from regenerated cellulose, typically derived from wood pulp or bamboo. It's known for its silk-like drape, breathability, and versatility at an affordable price.

Key Features:

  • Silky Feel – Mimics the luxurious drape of natural silk
  • Breathable – More moisture-wicking than polyester
  • Dye-Friendly – Holds vibrant colors beautifully
  • Biodegradable – Unlike fully synthetic fibers

Common Uses:

  • Clothing: Dresses, blouses, linings
  • Home Textiles: Bedding, curtains
  • Industrial: Medical supplies, tire cords

Note: Requires gentle care (hand wash/dry clean) as it can shrink or weaken when wet.
